About Me

Hello!! My name is Mila Burov. I am a fashion Designer and a "Slow Fashion" enthusiast.
I have always had a fascination with clothing, which led me to pursue a career in fashion design. Attention to detail, precision, good eye, knowledge of fabrics and leather are some of my skills along with mastery in fabric manipulation and dying. I specialise in laser cutting, have sashiko expertise and the ability to use my initiative and creative thinking.

I finished college of sewing and patter making. I then worked in an atelier making bespoke clothes. Later I wanted to create my own clothing so I finished NCAD (National College of Arts and Design) in Dublin. My degree collection was published in Irish Independant and college press media. I worked on one project with the college to make bespoke graduation robes.
At the moment I study French language and I find it
very inspirational.

Achievements
Published in Irish Independant

Mila Burov experimented with fabric manipulation such as shirring and sashiko embroidery to quilt her avant-garde take on streetwear. Colours are vibrant with a voluminous, short bomber orange jacket in neoprene with ruffled neckline, and oversized pink cotton taffeta dress with shirring, double ruffles and padded frill.

She used as many organic, recycled and low-impact fabrics as possible and dyed organdy material using avocado skin and stones.

Ms Burov, who has interned for Louis Copeland and Sons, said she wanted to produce intrinsically strong art and her collection drew on several visual references, from flowers at Dublin’s Botanic Gardens to 16th-century Elizabethan art.
Designing and creating first ever official conferring robes for NCAD
Mila Burov, a 2023 NCAD graduate, has quickly made a name for herself in the fashion industry with her innovative designs and commitment to sustainability. Her degree collection, "Enamour," received widespread acclaim for its avant-garde streetwear concepts and use of organic, recycled, and low-impact textiles12.

The commission includes creating robes for ten key academic positions, including the Director, Chair of An Bord, Honorary Doctorate, and Heads of Schools within NCAD. Burov's expertise in conferring gown design, honed during her internship with renowned Irish fashion designer Louis Copeland, made her the ideal choice for this project.
